A hot summer day in the Davis Mountains was excuse enough for this white horse to wade into the small water tank at Point of Rocks.  The Davis Mountains Scenic Loop (Hwy 166 on this southwestern stretch) heads southwest from tiny Fort Davis, Texas. The 76 mile loop winds through historic ranches, horses, cattle and mule deer. We travel this route to go anywhere, and we never tire of watching the wildlife and livestock. I think they must enjoy life in Far West Texas as much as we do!
