WESTERN PERSPECTIVE 5
2016 PBS Documentary Features Lindy Severns
The PBS documentary WESTERN PERSPECTIVE episode #5 aired nationally in the fall of 2016 and replays frequently. This episode of the award-winning series produced by Cara Carney and Stewart McSpadden features Fort Davis painter Lindy Cook Severns.
Filmed over two days, Lindy's segment of the documentary on creativity in West Texas follows the Big Bend artist as she teaches a pastel painting workshop at the Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine, then continues in her Davis Mountains studio and with an interview in front of the mural she painted at Crows Nest Ranch outside Fort Davis. (While Jim was there for the entire filming, he isn't shown, but the parrot has a small speaking part.)
The episode in its entirety runs half an hour, and is well worth finding on your local PBS channel. The link below, however takes you to the director's cut of Lindy's 6 minute segment.

I don't do a lot of shows. Showing takes time away from Painting.
And, I'm a Painter.
The invitational exhibits I do show art work in are special ones, and I knock myself out to create special works especially for that exhibit.
Exhibits offer artists and art collectors an opportunity to meet over their shared fine art interest. So we try to attend any exhibit Lindy Severns art hangs in. We've met some terrific people and made many lasting friendships along the way.
Here are some highlights of special exhibits I've hung in over the years:
